The only thing drawing a gag reflex is the fact that it’s the year 20 freakin’ 13 and we still hear this kind of racist crap. Is no one paying attention at the Washington Post?
Over the last two decades, McCain has rarely missed an opportunity to call for the escalation of an international conflict. Since the mid-1990s, he’s pushed for regime change in more than a half-dozen countries—occasionally with disastrous consequences.
Congress kicked up a fuss about it (and they should, because Constitution!, but they’ve surely been lax about it of late, creeping ever closer to Cheney’s ‘unitary executive’, at least until now) but now that the ball is in their court, what are they going to do about it? They didn’t really WANT that authority and they definitely don’t want their names tied to a vote. It’s one thing to bitch. It’s another to have it on the record. This should be enlightening.
Also, for all the claims about being careful with what they swiped, Snowden and Greenwald aren’t being terribly careful, what with writing down encryption passwords on bits of paper and all. Who knows how many people, how many countries, had access to that?
